Draaaama

I knew it would only be a matter of time before I had some really juicy vet school gossip to share with you guys. And man, is there a lot of it all of a sudden. Most of it's all rumor, and I don't have any proof, but it's the only thing in my life right now outside of studying and storytime is fun. So.

There's been some drama with a couple of our professors. One of them is a new professor this year, who teaches about a third of the class and then has guest lecturers come in for the rest of the lectures. Well, when the guest lecturers were speaking, she would fall asleep at least five times during the hour. Problem was, she sat in the very front row, where everyone in the class could see her. Betting pools started up on how many times her head would drop, when the first drop would be, etc. Needless to say, it got to be a bit distracting. It sort of resolved itself when someone said something to the higher ups, and now she sits in the back of the class. Reports from students up there have her still doing the head-bob bit, though.

There's some relationship drama, but only in the early, awkward stages that aren't nearly as fun to gossip about as the self-destructive end bits. Wait a few months, and I may have more on that subject.

The biggest, most tense drama has been surrounding class elections. Surprising, I know! Usually they're boring popularity contests. And to some degree, it was that. Except when it came to the presidential race. First, one of the candidates drops out the day of the election. Then, neither of the remaining candidates win a 50% majority, so we have to vote again later. See, there was an abstain option, and talking to people after the election there were reasons to use that option. (Again, all rumors.) One of the presidential candidates was rude to one of our professors about a single test question, after she made a point on the first day of lecture that she wouldn't consider nitpicking requests about single questions. Not so bad. But the other candidate didn't even show up for the first election (her excuse was sickness, but she was in class that day, and seeing as we had a test right after elections, I suspect she was just skipping to study). Not only that, but there's been some rumbling that they've been involved in some outright cheating with a few other people. Yeah. So we re-voted again today and neither of the candidates got a majority for the second time, so we get to renominate. Thank the gods.

Anyone tired of me talking about vet school yet? I'll move on to Bean news.

He finally removed the tail from his blue kitty, which made it more of a snowman than a kitty. He kept nosing around it so much, looking for the missing tail to shake it by, that I finally bought him a new one. It's a green replica of the old one, is already de-eared and he's been shaking it by the tail for the past twenty minutes.

I also bought him a blue raincoat/jacket. Which is adorable. And which none of you are going to get to see until Chrismukkah. I get off on being withholding.

That's all for now, I'll be back with another monthly post in December.

Love it Leahanne! The only problem with your post is that having been written on my daughter's birthday (I'm sure before she was actually born), I fully expect you to get back on blogger and dedicate the post to her. :-)

Dear sister,

I want more gossip on relationship news, being that sleepy professors and wannabe Reese Witherspoon's via Election don't really get me going.

Also, I can't wait until you're home for the holidays.
